The Marseillaise, plans to reserve a scholarship "on merit", only to French nationals.
The regulation annexed to the deliberation on the Regional Merit Scholarship, voted on June 29, 2018 and transmitted to the State on July 11, provides for an aid of 400 euros which "is addressed to all high school students of French nationality" enrolled in a high school of the region and having obtained the mention "very good" in the vat 2018.

Questioned by AFP, student unions and high school students had considered "unworthy, illogical or even discriminatory" (National Union high school – Trade Union and democratic), and "extremely reprehensible" (Unef) a possible restriction of the attribution of the scholarship to the only French nationals.
