This Sunday morning, three departments are still kept alert orange heat wave.
France is cooling off this weekend, and the departments are gradually moving from a yellow heat vigilance ("be attentive") to green ("no particular vigilance"). The heatwave alert was lifted Saturday in 18 departments, but was postponed to Monday night in three others, located in the Rhone Valley. This is the Ardèche, the Drôme and the Rhône.
On the three departments in alertness orange heat wave, "night temperatures have not dropped below 18 degrees in the lowlands, nor even below 21 degrees on the plains of southern Drôme," says Météo France. The organization announces temperatures above 30 degrees in these areas for this Sunday, and warns that "these hot weather will continue increasing at least until Friday."

The third hottest July since 1900
Since the end of June, temperatures have remained high throughout the country, says Météo-France, especially in the northern half of France where they were on average 2 to 4 degrees above seasonal values. The month of July 2018 is expected to be the third warmest July since 1900, with an average temperature above normal of 2.4 degrees, according to a provisional report prepared by Météo-France Friday night.
July 2018 would thus be in terms of temperature after July 2006 (+3.6 degrees) and July 1983 (+2.6 degrees).
