Météo France placed the Ille-et-Vilaine in orange vigil Sunday night for risk of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. This weather alert runs until Monday, 4 pm
Severe thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusts of wind and sometimes hail are expected in the next few hours.
Hail has fallen, in fact sector of Vitré, shortly before 21 h. Firefighters intervened, but the damage is small. Thunderstorms have been seen in the sky too.
Stormy homes with high electrical activity will be accompanied by potentially intense rain, a high risk of hail and sudden gusts up to 80 km per hour.
What we can expect
Power and phone outages can affect distribution networks for relatively long periods of time. It is also feared that roofs or chimneys are damaged. Also beware of potentially breaking tree limbs
Disturbed road traffic, particularly on the secondary forest system, may also be disturbed.
