To compare the iPhone X, the Galaxy S9 and the OnePlus 6 equitably, the 01net.com lab has created a script capable of loading 30 pages in succession, one after the other. These pages come from 5 different sites: Facebook, Libération, Le Figaro, Le Monde and Download.com
The three devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and load pages hosted locally on a single server. We made sure no pages were cached, to prevent the smartphone from reloading the page from its memory. Each page contains HTML code, javascript files, photos and CSS files. Which smartphone is the fastest to launch applications?
Second test for our iPhone X, Galaxy S9 and OnePlus 6: the successive opening of 10 applications of the daily newspaper. This time, no script: every opening is done manually by a human. Once an application is completely finished loading, we move on to the next, and so on.

Conclusion: no real winner
With only two seconds behind the Galaxy S9 and OnePlus 6 (41 seconds) we can not really say that the iPhone X (43 seconds) is slower to open applications. If the devices recorded some nice variations of speed a few generations ago, we can only note that the high-end devices have almost all the same level today. The OnePlus 6 Snapdragon 845 processor, the Galaxy S9 Exynos 9810 and the iPhone X A11 Bionic are equally powerful.
