Hello everyone and welcome to our site to follow the 10th stage of the Tour de France, first alpine incursion between Annecy and Le Grand-Bornand!
The historic site, where was erected the national monument of the Resistance, recalls the hard and deadly fight of the guerrillas during the Second World War. At the pbad, there are still 88 kilometers to the finish, with a long transition in the valley to reach the area around Cluses and climb the Romme Pbad, an ascent discovered late by the Tour.
Welcome to the Alps
The climb (8.8 to 8.9%) is ranked in the first category. It serves, as in 2009, steep walk to the final part of the Colombière (7.5 km to 8.5%) approached after a short descent.
The summit is 14.5 kilometers apart, in descent, from the finish at Grand-Bornand, stage city for the 7th time since 1995.
Rui Costa is the last stage winner in Haute-Savoie (2,200 inhabitants). In 2013, the Portuguese had won, in a very different final, a few weeks before becoming world champion.
Leaving Annecy at 13:15 (real departure at 13:35), arriving at Grand-Bornand around 17:57 (forecast at an average speed of 36 km / h).
