Konami cancels an unofficial remake of Silent Hills … and recruits its developer!

An annulment in exchange for a job is Konami's deal

The aborted Silent Hills project led by Hideo Kojima has caused the sadness of millions of fans of the license. And among these fans, some rather talented decided to create their own version of the game as Qimsar, who had revealed that his version would be available soon. Unfortunately, Konami entered the dance and simply canceled this unofficial remake: the Silent Hills license belongs to the studio. The cancellation of the trip could have stopped there … if Konami had simply not offered a job offer in Qimsar. A story he tells on his Gamejolt page

A canceled remake, a job won

Qimsar was on the phone talking with a Konami official who had his remake removed from the Silent Hills of Kojima from the canvas. Only here, good news accompanied the bad. And for good reason: the studio, blown away by his Silent Hills under Unreal Engine, simply decided to offer him an internship leading to a possible position. Suffice to say that the development of the game will not be futile for Qimsar. A disappointment on the other hand, that of never being able to get hold of this remake of Silent Hills which promised a lot …

Qimsar took advantage of his message to explain that the employees of Konami appreciated enormously his remake. Can we imagine this interest being at the origin of a renewed motivation in the development of a Silent Hills? The beautiful days of the license seem to be behind her and new talents would bring added value. Not to mention that Silent Hills remains a must for many players who remember nostalgically the old episodes.

There is in any case something to draw from this cancellation. Will Qimsar be part of a project around a triumphant return of Silent Hills on our consoles and PCs? Let's hope so. Fans are waiting for one thing: find the license – and if possible as brilliant as ever.
