Landivisiau: fire at Kritsen factory, employees evacuated

A thick gray smoke is visible since 16 h. Wednesday, July 11 afternoon, a fire broke out in an annex building of Kritsen factory specializing in smoked salmon. The fire then spread to the main building. 80 firefighters were deployed on the spot with important means to fight against the flames.

The 150 employees of the site had to be evacuated. No injuries but major material damage for the company. The ammonia storage building located inside the site was secured by the emergency services.

Traffic was cut on the RN12 between the Croix des Maltotiers and Vern interchanges. A deviation was set up by the departmental council of Finistere.

The population of Landivisiau is invited to remain confined to his home and not to approach the site to facilitate relief operations.

Aurélien who lives a kilometer from the site sees the smoke from his home.

The sub-prefect of Morlaix, Gilles Quénéhervé, explains that the fire was not completely contained in the early evening and that the material damage is considerable. Two firefighters were slightly inconvenienced by the fumes.
