Why did you transfer half of your fortune to Luxembourg?

Maurice Lévy, Chairman of the Publicis Supervisory Board: The shares I hold directly from Publicis – half of the total – are still in France. These are the ones I pbaded on to my children who will be lodged in Luxembourg to form the base of a family office that will raise money and invest in French companies. A first operation has already taken place that I will soon be able to announce.

But why did you choose Luxembourg?

To increase our financial strength, we have returned to this holding a US fund that did not want to to establish in France, and preferred the stability of Luxembourg.

Is there not a fiscal advantage to this?

Since the establishment of the "flat tax" in France, there is zero tax advantage to be based in Luxembourg. I pay all my taxes in France, the operations that we will do will be for the benefit of France, I am exemplary.

And yet, when one is called Maurice Lévy, that one supports France, that one says that "fiscal exile is not good", are there not countries to avoid?

I have my conscience calm. What my children are doing is transparent, will benefit France, in a country that is no longer a tax haven. Any criticism that may come is misplaced and has no reason to be.

Do not you fear to tarnish the image of the great bosses?

If you want me basher [critiquer] me bashera . But it will be fundamentally unfair and false. When I roll out my plan, you will see that people will say that it is intelligent, indisputable, and will take my hat off. I know what I am doing, that it will benefit France, and that I can be proud of it
