POLITICS – "All my support for these police officers and their families." In a tweet published this Thursday, July 5 in the early evening, Emmanuel Macron reacted to the violent badault of two police officers the day before in Seine-et-Marne.

"No words hard enough for ignominy and cowardice of the two thugs who attacked Othis last night a couple of policemen outside their service before the eyes of their granddaughter ", condemned the head of state, in a context at least flammable security after the events observed since two days in Nantes.

"Everything will be done to challenge and bring to justice the perpetrators of the heinous aggression that targeted a couple of peacekeepers", for its part reacted the minister of the Interior Gerard Collomb, promising that "this despicable act will not remain unpunished."

A particularly firm tone which obviously did not rebadure the MP LR Éric Ciotti, accustomed opportunistic outings on Twitter. After having sent his thoughts to the "victims and all the police forces targeted by these barbarians", the elected representative of the Alpes-Maritimes directly challenged the President of the Republic. "Mr. Macron, hard words are useless when the actions are weak, what have you done to protect our police officers?", Accused Eric Ciotti

M. #Macron Hard words are useless when acts are weak. What did you do to protect our police officers? The com ', that's enough! #Othis pic.twitter.com/vmLcyW6h9l

In a less vindictive tone, his colleague from Bouches-du-Rhône, Valérie Boyer, also called on the government to crack down. "It is urgent to act," she tweeted. "To fight against a policeman is to attack the entire nation, enough of this scum free," added Nicolas Dupont-Aignan.

Couple of policemen badaulted #Othis in front of their little girl. Beyond the cowardice of the act that we must unanimously denounce, beyond the support we must provide our police, beyond words, it becomes urgent to act. There is no freedom without security

The aggression of the two policemen took place Wednesday, July 4 evening around 9 pm, in Othis in Seine-et-Marne. While the couple were putting their three-year-old daughter in the car, two men aboard a car stopped him and began to abuse the young woman, a police source told AFP

The attackers then got out of the car and punched the policewoman's face. They then attacked his companion, who received several kicks, including the head. The policewoman was prescribed four days of total interruption of work, against fifteen for her companion.
