PARIS (Reuters) – Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits announced Friday the appointment of Andrew Highbad of Britain as General Manager.

The Wines and Spirits Group had thanked its General Manager Jean-Noël Reynaud in March, Acting President of the Board Benoît Hérault

Andrew Highbad, who worked for the Diageo and SabMiller beverage groups, will take office on October 29, MBWS said in a statement.

"Andrew for a priority mission to define the means and the strategy to put Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits on the path of profitable growth ", said Benoît Hérault

MBWS at the same time reiterated its confidence in its ability to finalize the renegotiation certain terms of its financing lines before the end of the summer.

It plans to publish its 2017 annual accounts, and still expects a negative Ebitda 2017 in the range of -11 million to -12 million euros.

Consolidated net sales for the second quarter 2018 amounted to 107.9 million euros, down 11.4%, also announced MBWS.

"The deterioration in sales, noted during the first half of the year, will affect the profitability of the first half of 2018 which should thus be very significant decline compared to its level of the first half of 2017 ", commented the group.

Starting in the second half of the year, MBWS is still anticipating a gradual recovery of its activity in all of its business segments, although this will not offset the decline in revenue in the first half.

It therefore anticipates for the 2018 financial year a negative Ebitda but which should be improved compared to the level expected for 2017.
