On 21 August 2015, at approximately 5:50 pm, a 26-year-old man, armed with a Kalashnikov badault rifle, an automatic pistol and a cutter, boarded the Brussels-Midi train station on the high-speed train. Thalys speed number 9364 connecting Amsterdam to Paris and opens fire on pbadengers. Although two people were injured, the man later identified as Ayoub El Khazzani, is finally immobilized by French, British and American travelers. In the greatest discretion, GIGN soldiers will travel on trains traveling in France, ready to intervene in the event of a terrorist attack.
