Mi A2: Xiaomi pursues European conquest with Android One

[ad_1]

Xiaomi's European offensive continues. Recall that in near Spain, the Chinese manufacturer arrived in France last May with the opening of a first store in Paris. To pbad a course, a builder must go beyond its borders and develop its brand.

Europe is thus often an unavoidable stage for Chinese manufacturers before considering the United States. But in the field of smartphones, the fight will be difficult. The Chinese company landed in France on a market segment of "affordable" smartphones already busy. It will take time for him to make a name.

The competition is far from non-existent and it will have to compete with other manufacturers in this market segment. Rivals whose notoriety is often superior to his own. Samsung, via its ranges A and J, has a good presence in France and a strong brand.

The same goes for Huawei and Honor, or Wiko on the niche of the first prizes. But Xiaomi probably does not hope to make a breakthrough. Like Huawei before him, he will have to build his notoriety.

The firm has unveiled in Madrid the Mi A2 also declined in a Lite version. Xiaomi is aggressive in the price: the two smartphones are sold under 300 euros and also intends to distinguish itself by offering a pure version of Android, namely Android One (no overlay, direct updates). It remains to be seen if this approach is an argument for the Europeans and the French

The Mi A2 has a fairly basic, rounded design, and is equipped with a 5.99-inch screen, a processor Snapdragon 660, 4 or 6 GB of RAM, and up to 128 GB of internal storage …

Xiaomi highlighted the quality of its photo sensor (it became the number one argument among manufacturers) for a smartphone of this range. There is a dual camera module of 12 and 20 megapixels f / 1.75 aperture. The frontal sensor rises to 20 megapixels.

It will be available at the end of the month on the site of the brand but also at Amazon, Fnac, Boulanger … at a price between 269 euros and 299 euros for 64 Go. A version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage is offered at 349 euros.

The Lite grind runs the same Snapdragon 625 processor but its design is a little different (no aluminum back, notch) and its smaller screen: 5.8 inches. The camera is also of poor quality. It will be marketed from 189 euros to 229 euros.
