Microsoft plays the game – Microsoft, Obsidian Entertainment, inXile – News

Last month, rumors suggested that Microsoft go buy Obsidian Entertainment (Fallout New Vegas, Pillars Of Eternity …). They were true but incomplete. Not only did Microsoft just afford Obsidian but they also bought inXile Entertainment (Wasteland 2, Torment …). The two studios are friends for a long time which is logical since they were both founded by former Interplay.

The two new members of the Microsoft Studis family should maintain their autonomy and should no longer need to do the quest to fund their CRPGs. InXile is currently working on Wasteland 3 while Obsidian is working on console versions of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. Microsoft has bought six studios this year in addition to having founded a new one. If all this little world bump on the excluded for the next Xbox, the PS5 match against Xbox Future Name A La Con may be bloody.
