An eventful night in Mulhouse. It's 2:50 am, this Friday, July 20, when the municipal police notice the erratic trajectory of a black Volkswagen Golf. Three people are inside, including the driver, "slumped on his steering wheel" according to the police. The police stop the car (who complies), and want to carry out an identity check and test the driver, because they suspect it to be under the influence of certain substances incompatible with driving. But the car suddenly reboots as the policeman approaches.

A chase breaks out in the streets of the Upper Rhine agglomeration. It turns quickly to the advantage of the fugitives, who drive much faster. After having lost their track, the police patrol, and end up on a scene of particularly impressive accident at the intersection of the avenue Aristide Briand and the quay of Bell. After firing a red light, the fleeing car violently struck a white Peugeot 206, returning it to the roof and killing its occupant .

Heavily damaged, the car of the fugitives is found a few meters from the car they returned. The 18-year-old driver is still driving, seriously injured. The 21-year-old pbadenger in the back escaped before being caught by the police. The front pbadenger, very young too, also tried to escape before being caught. All three were sent to the hospital. The driver's vital prognosis is not engaged. His two accomplices, wounded much more lightly, should leave the hospital shortly to be auditioned by the police. The escape attempt could be explained by the fact that the driver was not insured.
