At the helm of Edmond de Rotschild, he was then in the lead of the Maxi, at the head of this Route du Rhum which started the day before. From the deck, he could see that part of the bow of his float had been torn off. In the middle of the night, in waves of more than 4m and in a wind of 30 knots, it is impossible to specify the extent of the damage. But the French skipper knows that his race is over. With a depression that should sweep the Bay of Biscay in the next few hours, he must act quickly to protect himself.
