As revealed by the German specialist site Computerbase Samsung and ARM have teamed up to design a processor capable of exceeding the 3 GHz mark. This announcement was made at the Samsung Foundry Forum 2018 and according to our colleagues, Samsung would adopt the Cortex-A76 architecture to achieve this. Specifically, we can expect to see the first smartphones equipped with such processors from 2019 .
Samsung will break the 3 GHz barrier with an ARM Cortex-A76 processor by 2019 [19659005] This processor will be etched in 7 nm (7LPP) while the current generation Exynos SoC and Snapdragon (835 and 845) are etched in 10 nm. And it's not over since Samsung is already thinking of the future with a future processor engraved in 5 nm (5LPE).
