The Xperia XZ2 has allowed Sony to bring a real revival to its high-end. A flagship smartphone that is still facing fierce competition. As is often the case, the Japanese firm has decided to release the Premium version, an even better version of its flagship.
It has a 5.8-inch IPS screen, displays a definition "4K HDR" of 3840 x 2160 pixels and is protected by a coating Gorilla Glbad 5. Its design is very similar to the XZ2. It is IP68 certified and still weighs 236 grams. In other words, the compact format is far away.
The whole thing runs on the very powerful Snapdragon SoC 845 (and an Adreno 630) coupled with 6 GB of RAM. If the 64 GB of storage is not enough, it will be possible to add a micro-SD card. Its 3540 mAh battery is supposed to offer more than adequate battery life. It all runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.
All about the photo
For this version, the firm promises photography. Its dual-sensor Motion EyeTM camera (a 19-megapixel color sensor for precise shades and a 12-megapixel contrast sensor) works with an image processing processor for better rendering. Its sensitivity of 51,200 ISO in photo and 12,800 ISO in video will capture clear images even in low light.
Now become mandatory, the Bokeh mode will be available and will add a soft focus in the background, in order to to put the subject in value. The video will not be left behind thanks to the recording in 4K HDR, which offers a beautiful level of detail. We note that it is still possible to use the "Super Slow Motion" to enjoy videos at 960 frames / second.
In short, a complete smartphone that benefits from recognized know-how. Scheduled for this summer (July 30 returns often), the device will cost 899 euros. A very high price, which could be detrimental even to fans. Many smartphones with similar data sheets now cost less. It will therefore compete with a device like the Oppo Find X (sold 1000 euros), which can benefit from a truly original appearance.
