Nintendo has promised to support Super Smash Bros. Ultimate until February 2020. That means there will be a lot of paid DLC to inflate the content of the game. When does it come out?

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be available December 7 on Nintendo Switch. You can choose between a standard version, a limited edition or a bundle with a redecorated console for the occasion – as well as a Pro Controller collector. Please note that you will receive the free Piranha Plante character if you buy the game before January 31, 2019. This character will enter the game in February.
