Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition was announced at E3 2018 . It will come out this winter (world) in physical and dematerialized version on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well as on PC via Steam . Last week, during a conference that took place at the event Anime Expo 2018 Bandai Namco aired a new trailer of the game. was shared on YouTube :

Originally, Tales of Vesperia was released exclusively on Xbox 360 in 2008 in Japan and the United States then in 2009 in Europe. Subsequently, the title was adapted to PS3 in 2009 in Japan (only) with several important novelties, including a complete dubbing (corresponding to almost twice the original Japanese voices), of new scenarios places and costumes Flynn Scifo (Yuri Lowell's best friend) as a permanent playable character a new heroine (Patty Fleur, a young amnesic pirate) of new dungeons of unpublished bosses of giant monsters and many other elements.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is of course an ultimate edition in high definition based on the PS3 version . All the novelties of this version will be well included in this game, and it will even be possible to choose between the Japanese or English voices . In addition, subtitles in French, English, Spanish, Brazilian and Portuguese will be included .

The first trailer:

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will obviously have an improved screen resolution and the cooperative local multiplayer mode up to four will be back . This episode brings us to the world of Terca Lumeiris where we follow the adventure of Yuri Lowell a resident of the lower district of Zaphias and former imperial knight . In this world, we find a substance, the aer, which would be at the origin of the planet, but also humans and monsters. In order to protect themselves from the dangers of the outside (the monsters), humans have built barriers called " blastia " from ancient technology and that the empire controls, which are also useful for life daily inhabitants. While Yuri had resigned, he quickly discovers that his neighborhood is flooded with water from the fountain of Zaphias, which is a blastia.

The core of this blastia, called aque blastia, was stolen, and Yuri therefore decided to accept a mission to find it, especially since this nucleus is necessary for the water supply of the district. This simple mission turns into a great adventure, where Yuri will befriend a group of colorful characters (including Estelle, a young noblewoman, Karol, a boy who claims to be part of a guild, Rita, a scholar eccentric, Raven, a laid-back archer, Judith, a young woman who moves on the back of a mysterious dragon and Repede, a dog who always keeps a pipe in her mouth) and will travel in exotic and deep places in the middle of a Harmful conspiracy that threatens the destuction of the entire planet …

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition uses a new special version of the linear motion combat system of the series (Evolved Flex-Range Linear Motion Battle System). Players must control only one member of the group in real time, while the other three characters are managed by custom artificial intelligence. It is possible to alternate between the four characters at any time during the battles, with the possibility of using physical attacks and Mystic Artes . This edition features Full HD graphics, new tracks, mini-games, online leaderboards, bosses and a collection of unpublished DLC costumes .

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will contain all the Tales of the Abyss costumes originally offered in DLC for the PS3 version (also as a pre-order bonus). These costumes allow to disguise Yuri in Asch, Estelle in Tear and Flynn in Luke .

The development of Tales of Vesperia began in May 2006 with the first concepts made in 2005. The game is developed by the same team behind Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss with the producer Yoshito Higuchi the composers Motoi Sakuraba and Nibiki Tayama (the soundtrack having been marketed on August 20, 2008, see file VGMdb) as well as the character designer Kosuke Fujishima the artist Daigo Okumura and the writers Takashi Hasegawa Koki Matsumoto Takaaki Okuda and Hideo Baba .

The theme of history is justice, and cinematics were produced by Production IG . The theme song, Ring A Bell by Bonnie Pink was used for all versions of the game. The title was commercially successful internationally, with more than 600,000 copies around the world and generally positive reviews. Unfortunately, this was not enough for the PS3 version to come out in the West because of several problems related to marketing.

The success of Tales of Vesperia was so important in Japan that the game was treated to several adaptations with unseen stories related to the universe. First of all, in 2009, the production film IG Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike produced by Production IG was broadcast in Japanese cinemas to coincide with the release of the PS3 version and proposes a prequelle of the original story. Tales of Vesperia also knew five adaptations in manga : a collection of anthology, a traditional adaptation, a yonkoma named Tales of Vesperia Four Panels Kings an adaptation of the end of the game under -titled Trajectory of Venus and an adaptation of The First Strike. There are also three novel adaptations (one in four parts for the game, one in four on Raven subtitled Mask of the Void and one in two on Judith subtitled Silence of the Errand Dragon). Then there was an episodic audio novel about Yuri and Flynn's childhood, Tales of Vesperia: Genalogy of the Condemned on Android and iOS in 2014. Several CD dramas were marketed with an audio adaptation of Vesperia, comic stories focusing on Brave Vesperia a prequel to Mask of the Void and a prequel to The First Strike.
