The 2018 MacBook Pro Touch Bar may suffer from the iMac Pro bug

Like the iMac Pro, the new 2018 Touch Bar MacBook Pro incorporates an ARM chip designed by Apple to control many aspects. This is also the same chip found in both ranges, an Apple T2, and it is the same implementation on the software side, with a lighter operating system named BridgeOS which is the link with macOS and the Intel processor. The badembly is bold, but not without bug. And unfortunately, the one who touched some iMac Pro also touches some MacBook Pro.

The T2 chip, right next to the Intel processor, on the 13-inch MacBook Pro (image iFixit ).

knows almost nothing about this bug, its origins and even less about its solutions. All we know is that iMac Pro can sometimes go off unexpectedly, without any known reason. And according to at least a first testimony published on the forums of Apple, the new MacBook Pro can also suffer from the same bug. This is only a unique testimony for the moment and there is a lack of perspective to know if the problem is general.

Nevertheless, this is bad news because it would mean that the bug is still there and not fixed yet. Not to mention that Apple sells a lot more portable machines than desktop computers. Even if these unexpected reboots only concern a small part of the users, it will nevertheless represent a lot more people per se.
