  • The body of Alexia Daval, 29, was found on October 30 calcined, hidden under branches in a wood near Gray-la-Ville (Haute-Saône)
  • Her husband, Jonathann had confessed last January to have killed his wife by accident. He was indicted for "spousal murder" and is at risk of life imprisonment.
  • This Wednesday, he went back on his confession and now accuses his brother-in-law.

Whose master Jean-Marc Florand is he the lawyer? Parents and relatives of Alexia Daval, whose body was found charred last October in a forest near Gray-la-ville (Haute-Saone)? Or the husband of the victim,
Jonathann Daval,
indicted last January for murder on spouse after confessing, before the gendarmes, strangling Alexia? The question arises in the light of the tenor's astonishing responses to the journalists who questioned him on Thursday about
the new strategy of defense of the computer scientist of 34 years.

Last Wednesday, before the judge of instruction, Jonathann Daval returned on his confession. He explained to the magistrate that Alexia Daval had been killed by her brother-in-law, Gregory Gay, at a family dinner at the young woman's parents, while he was trying to control her during a crisis in hysteria, on the night of 27 to 28 October 2017. Alexia Daval's family then, according to him, sealed a "secret pact" in order to quell the affair. Charges that make "no sense", badures their lawyer. "It's unthinkable.

Statements that "do not stick"

He also believes that "the credibility of Jonathann Daval is questionable" because, he says, the statements of the suspect have never corresponded "to the truths objective of the file ". Alexia Daval
suffered a lot of violence before being strangled and "for the moment, the different versions of Jonathann do not stick at all to that". In front of the gendarmes, he had initially indicated that he had killed him by "accident". But, he insists, "it's all but an accident." Conclusion of the lawyer: Either the suspect, who now accuses the husband of Alexia's sister, "does not badume" his gesture, either he is "crazy" or "it is not him." Several psychological and psychiatric badessments have been ordered and Master Florand is impatiently waiting for them "even if this will not give any truth to the murderer". They may nevertheless explain "the improbable behavior" of the suspect who has changed several times.

"Alexia was killed by one or two people"

In short, Master Florand wonders about the direct involvement of the young man in the murder of his wife. However, several elements of the file collected by the gendarmes designate him as the main suspect. There is first this piece of cloth, in which the body of young woman was wrapped, and which belonged to the couple. There is also the testimony of this neighbor who heard a car come out, the night of the murder, from the home of Jonathann and Alexia. What the suspect's vehicle badysis then confirmed. Finally, there are these DNA traces of Jonathann found on the victim.

But Jean- Marc Florand has an answer to everything. What proves that Jonathann drove that car that night? Are we certain that he took the famous sheet? As for his DNA discovered on the victim, nothing more normal since they slept together. On the other hand, the lawyer is "convinced that Jonathann knows the truth". He then told the reporters his belief: "Alexia was killed by one or two people, with great violence and considerable rage."

"I can not see Jonathan kill"

Moreover, he badures that Alexia's family "adheres" to this thesis. Now, what would have been the motive of the suspect, he wonders? "I can not see Jonathan kill, transport, burn the body of his wife but it's up to me," he said. Before emphasizing: "The more the investigation proceeds, the less we see clearly. The defense of the accused would certainly not have done better.
