According to new data, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 multiplayer servers have been significantly improved since their launch and are running at more than 60 Hz from October 27th.
During the launch week of Black Ops 4, players were disappointed to learn that the game was running at 20Hz (sending 20 updates per second from the server to the client). The beta tests had previously shown that the multiplayer beta version was running at 60 Hz. This was a significant downgrade that left players somewhat misled.
Treyarch quickly explained that they had optimized the servers specifically for the launch period, where they expected a high number of players, and that they would continue to improve them over time.
After a few days, some of the first tests indicated that the multiplayer servers were running at 30Hz and it now looks like they have been further improved. According to the user Reddit soja92, tests done on both PC and PS4 indicate an improvement of the frequency to 62Hz in the clbadic multiplayer matches, tested in MS and Control.

Blackout, which was also at 20Hz in the beta, still runs at 20Hz, which could stay like this in the foreseeable future, as the higher number of players in the matches places an extra burden on the servers.

The Reddit user who posted the data explains that this could be limited to their specific region in the Northeast United States, but even if it is not global, it shows at least what Treyarch is aiming for.
"I decided to do some tests today while I was playing, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the servers were running at 62Hz.
I tested Blackout, but nothing changed there. It still works at 20Hz.
It may still be a test region, or even a delayed deployment, so I can not say with certainty if your area has 62 Hz at the moment, but it's available for the Northeast region of the United States "
Treyarch keeps Black Ops 4 and Blackout up to date with new updates every day and it looks like the servers are getting better, as promised by the studio.
