FRANKFURT (Reuters) – The chairman of the supervisory board of Thyssenkrupp announced Monday his resignation, just over a week after the departure of the chairman of the board of the German industrial conglomerate, under intense pressure fund activists demanding deep restructuring.
Ulrich Lehner, 72, informed the supervisory board that his resignation would be effective on July 31 and that he would also resign from the board.
" The company will make a decision about its succession (…) shortly, "says Thyssenkrupp in a statement.
The chairman of the board of the German conglomerate, Heinrich Hiesinger, announced his resignation on July 5 .
The financial director Guido Kerkhoff replaces him on an interim basis pending the appointment of a permanent replacement
