For Arnaud Démare, the sprint at first seemed badly fitted. In the penultimate kilometer, he was sandwiched by two runners and lost his pilot fish, Jacopo Guarnieri. But he managed to catch the wheel of the Italian soon enough. At the same time, the Cofidis moved to the front.
