Transfer: Brazilian Fabio, Rafael's twin brother, signs to Nantes

Nantes – Brazilian international Fabio, who previously played for England's Middlesbrough, signed a three-year contract with FC Nantes on Wednesday, the club said on its website.
  

The twin brother of Lyon defender Rafael, side defender Fabio Pereira Da Silva, 28, was trained in the Brazilian club Fluminense.

He made his professional debut with Manchester United. Pbaded by Queens Park Rangers, Cardiff and Middlesbrough, he has played in 80 Premier League matches and 72 in Championship (the 2nd British Division).

Fabio also played 16 Champions League games with the Red Devils, including in 2010-2011 when Manchester United reached the final.

Fabio has two selections in Brazil's national team. He was also captain of the Brazil Under-17 team at the 2007 World Cup.

Under the leadership of new coach Miguel Cardoso, Fabio, who will be coaching N.2 at FC Nantes, must take part in his first training with the group from Nantes on Thursday morning.
