OnePlus continues to provide regular updates to its terminals, and currently OxygenOS 5.1.6 is deployed on the OnePlus 5 and 5T. This update is not insignificant since it includes the support of Project Treble Google.

In addition to security patches or Bluetooth enhancement, the update makes the terminals of the mark compatible with Treble. As a reminder, Treble is a project launched by Google last year that proposes to separate the framework of the software part proposed by the manufacturer. Clearly, this allows to offer updates to the base of Android separately tools added overlay by the manufacturer.

With Treble, Android updates should be more regular and easy, as manufacturers will not have to systematically update and recompile them before releasing them. Users will be able to perform the updates separately and take advantage of the new versions of Android sometimes beyond the support offered by the manufacturer itself.
