Whirlpool will have to go to the checkout. The US group announced on Tuesday that it has reached a "preliminary agreement" providing for a fine of between $ 111 and $ 134 million (between € 95 and € 114 million) with the French Competition Authority, in the context of an investigation into an alleged cartel between major appliance manufacturers between 2006 and 2009.

Factory relocated to Poland

This announcement was made on the occasion of the publication of the group's quarterly results, impacted by expenses of a total of $ 860 million related to its restructuring in Europe and the French sanction.

Last May, Whirlpool had notably closed its factory in Amiens (Somme), whose activity was relocated Poland. The workers, on strike, had finally found an agreement with the management on a plan for the safeguarding of employment (PSE).
