Mets star shortstop Francisco Lindor left Friday night’s game against the Pirates with a pain in his right side after failing early in the fifth inning, wincing after swinging the bat and not fully reaching the first goal.

He was replaced by Luis Guillorme at the end of the round.

Lindor has been having a low season by his standards, hitting 0.227 / 0.326 / 0.377 with a 97 OPS + and 11 home runs in 2021. However, over the past two weeks he had built up a 0.314 / .478 / .486 line. with a 162 OPS +, so any missed time due to injury would come at an inopportune time for Lindor and the Mets as they look to retain the top spot in the NL East.
