Frank Fritz will not be returning to the History Channel American Pickers series, according to the show’s Mike Wolfe.

“I will miss Frank, as will all of you,” Wolfe, 57, told TMZ on Wednesday, “and I pray for the best and all good things for him in the next part of his journey.

“The journey that Frank, Dani and I began in 2009, like all of life, has seen its ups and downs, blessings and challenges, but it has also been the most rewarding.”

Production insiders told TMZ that Fritz, 55, who was last seen on the show in March 2020, will not be returning after leaving the show last year, as a number of health was piling up, including a back injury that required surgery and an ongoing battle with Crohn’s disease.

Fritz told The Sun on Monday that he felt losing weight “was an important thing to get back to the show,” asking, “How can I get back to the show 65 pounds less?

“I would love to come back to the show, but we’ll see. I have been doing this for 11 years, but there is a lot of controversy right now.

He continued, “It’s up to the network to decide if I come back on the show. It won’t affect me at all. I didn’t quit the show, I finished filming, then I suffered. a little back surgery and the pandemic arrived.

Fritz told The Sun that abstaining from alcohol is also a positive health factor.

“Not drinking helps you lose weight because when you drink, you eat,” he said. ‘I’m not on a diet. I drank a little too, but it didn’t work either. I haven’t been drinking for almost nine, ten months. It would have been a year but I got a mistake, it was maybe for four hours, but it was enough.

The show’s producers were content to let Wolfe run the show on his own after Fritz hinted he would like to return, sources told TMZ.
