While Browns coach Freddie Kitchens tries to avoid a 0-2 start as a head coach, he does not want to be in the middle of a fight between one of his current employees and his former boss.
But that's exactly where Kitchens is about the feud between Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and former Browns defensive coach Gregg Williams.
"I've never seen anything like it," Kitchens said of Williams asking players to target their opponents. "We are getting ready to play the Jets. I have nothing to say about it. I did not see anything and I trained this guy for a year. "
Kitchens said Beckham had not expressed any concerns about hurting herself against Williams 'current team, the Jets, and that she had not spoken to Beckham about his comments about Williams' Beckham during a preparatory game in 2017. The kitchens do not plan to talk to Beckham either.
"I'm convinced that Odell's goal is to focus on the New York Jets. I think sometimes he says things for reasons, "said Kitchens.
So why did Beckham say what he said?
"I do not know," said Kitchens. "I'm not talking about that. It does not matter to me one way or the other. I did not see the guy do anything like that. We are preparing for the Jets.
That's really all that kitchens can say. And he definitely has a lot more to worry about, as Sam Darnold's mono puts all the pressure on the shoulders of the Browns on Monday night.
