Free NFL Agency: Buster Skrine Will Sign With The Bears

The Jets are in a corner. Buster Skrine's four-year period with the team is over. The veteran takes his talents to Chicago to sign with the Bears.

Skrine was the first major import of free agents of the Mike Maccagnan era in 2015. The Jets actually agreed to negotiate it for a few hours before signing a megadome with cornerback Darrelle Revis.

It's pretty amazing that Skrine signed his four-year full contract with the Jets without being cut. The team had several opportunities to save space by releasing the corner, but continued to stick around.

Despite the conclusion of the contract, I do not think many people would describe the signature as a success. The first season of his Jets career has been good. There was an impact game from time to time afterwards, but Skrine's Jets mandate was mainly to get burned and scored.

Maybe the best thing about Skrine's Jets mandate is that he's finished.
