GLENDALE, Wisconsin (WTMJ) – A Wisconsin family brought in an unwanted guest just in time for dinner.
Karlie Allen and his family were unloading food and cooking when his brother saw something move in the salad mix.
He noticed what appeared to be a frog in the container that they had just picked up at the grocery store.
Thinking it was a joke, Karlie went to check and captured the creature on video.
The family let the frog go but returned to the store to show the clerk what happened.
They have been reimbursed. But the family told WTMJ, an affiliate of NBC, that she was hoping for answers. "One," Karlie asked, "how on earth did that happen in there and two, it's absolutely disgusting!"
Roundy's Supermarkets is the parent company of the grocery store and is excused by explaining: "This happens from time to time when organic products are involved."
