Sir Elton John has postponed several shows in Florida.

The 71-year-old "Candle In the Wind" singer was scheduled to perform at the Amway Center in Orlando on Tuesday night, but the sold-out crowd was informed half an hour after the show that the concert had been canceled.

John's representative, Fran Curtis, confirmed to the US TODAY that Orlando is stopping on his Farewell, the yellow brick road was abruptly delayed due to an "ear infection".

The Amway Center has announced on Twitter: "We are sorry to announce that because of an ear infection, Elton John is unable to perform tonight." postponed to Orlando will be announced in the near future, so please keep your tickets. "

Several media have assumed that the concert was canceled after a credible bomb alertbut the rumor was quickly dispelled.

"Any speculation or claim of a bomb threat is false and totally unfounded," said Tanya Bowley, marketing manager at the City of Orlando, USA TODAY. "Tonight's cancellation was indeed due to Elton John's ear infection as it was shared from the beginning."

The Amway Center noted that "there has never been a bomb threat," adding that "the new dates for Orlando and Tampa will be announced in the near future".

Despite the reasoning, fans could not help expressing their frustration on Twitter.

@CaptianPainway shared before and after pictures of the crowd once they learned that John would not go on stage: "Five minutes apart." Elton John's show #FarewellYellowBrickRoad has We were all seated and waiting for half an hour.

"As a person who has also returned home early from work, sick, I hope that he will feel better, but dang," she continued.

The other fans were less understanding. User @ SuziBrady1982 shared a photo of his crying son after learning the news.

"#EltonJohn, I can not believe you canceled a concert from 8pm to 8:25 pm," she wrote. "Nobody would have called that earlier? Seriously? Incredible. My 8-year-old mega fan is devastated."

@Mordacbk thought about the money he spent the night.

"Fucking shit / $ 250 on tickets / $ 150 in a hotel / $ 30 in drinks / Elton John canceled for the night … priceless," he writes.

Wednesday's show in Tampa, Fla., At Amalie Arena has had a similar fate.

"Due to an ear infection and orders from doctors, the show at 11/28 @eltonofficial Tampa is postponed to a date to be determined," tweeted the arena.

The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which John presented as his last piece of concerts before retiring from the road, will last a year and will end tentatively in September 2019.
