FSIS recalls more than 2,000 pounds of straight beef link products

CHICAGO, Ill. – Vienna Beef Ltd., based in Chicago, recalls approximately 2,030 pounds of beef free link products.

The recalled products were shipped to Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.

According to the Food Inspection and Safety Department of the United States Department of Agriculture, this recall is due to the possibility that meat is contaminated with external materials, such as metal.

Vienna Beef Ltd. would have discovered the problem and contacted the FSIS.

According to FSIS, no adverse effects caused by the consumption of these products has been confirmed.

FSIS has issued the following statement regarding recall product details:

  • 10 lbs. Of cases containing "SKINLESS BEE FRANKFURTERS 6" 8's 10 # "with case code 013180 and package code 9122 shown on the label.

  • 10 lbs. Of cases containing "SKINLESS BEE FRANKFURTERS 6" 11's 10 # "with case code 013312 and package code 9122 or 9123 shown on the label.

  • 10 lbs. Of cases containing "SKINLESS BEE FRANKFURTERS 7" 9's 10 # "with case code 013490 and package code 9122 or 9123 shown on the label.

The products concerned by the recall bear the establishment number "EST. 1 "inside the USDA inspection mark.
