FSU Football publishes its 2021 calendar

Florida State released its 2021 football schedule on Thursday morning.

The Seminoles open the 2021 season at Doak S. Campbell Stadium on Sunday, September 5 when they host Our Lady. The season will end at Florida on Saturday November 27. Other non-conference games include home dates with Jacksonville State (Saturday September 11) and UMass (Saturday October 23).

The Atlantic Coast Conference portion of the program includes home games with Louisville State, Miami, North Carolina and Syracuse, while FSU takes to the road to face Boston College, Clemson, North Carolina and Wake Forest.

It includes seven home games and five road competitions.

“We are excited about the 2021 football season, and the upcoming schedule announcement puts a lot of wheels in motion,” Florida state athletic director David Coburn said in a statement. “I know our coaches and players are happy to know what the season will be like, not to mention our Seminole Boosters and our fans who can start making their plans.

Season tickets go on sale February 1.

FSU went 3-6, including 2-6 against the ACC, in 2020, their first season under head coach Mike Norvell.

Some additional remarks on the 2021 calendar:

– FSU will welcome Notre Dame to Tallahassee for the third time in a series the Seminoles lead 6-4.

In last year’s game with Jacksonville State, Florida State gained over 250 rushing and passing yards in a game for the first time since 2016.

Florida State leads the all-time series with Wake Forest, 30-7-1, including a 9-4 mark at Winston-Salem.

FSU has a 16-5 advantage, including 10-2 at Tallahassee, in the all-time series against Louisville.

– FSU is 6-0 at home as part of an 11-2 lead over Syracuse.

– Florida State leads the all-time series 16-3-1 against North Carolina after defeating No.5-ranked Tar Heels at Doak Campbell Stadium on October 17, 2020, making Mike Norvell the sole coach of ACC history to claiming a victory over a top-five team in its first season.

– The match with UMass is the first for the programs.

– The game at Clemson resumes a streak Florida State leads 20-13. Their 2020 game was postponed and then canceled due to COVID issues for the Tigers.

–North Carolina State is the only conference opponent the FSU has faced in every season since joining the ACC in 1992.

– The November 13 date is the latest for an FSU-Miami game since 2014 and only the fourth November game in the series since 1992.

On FSU’s last trip to Boston College, the Seminoles clinched a 38-31 victory to move to 13-5 overall against the Eagles and 7-3 at Chestnut Hill.

– Florida State has won four of the last five games against Florida in Gainesville.
