We already knew what Georgia’s non-conference schedule looked like for the 2022 season, but now we can take a look at the big picture. The SEC filled in the blanks for UGA and the other 13 conference teams on Tuesday in a live broadcast on the SEC network.
The Bulldogs start the season with a Chick-Fil-A kickoff game with Oregon on September 3 inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, GA). He will host Samford on September 10 and play Kent State at Sanford Stadium on September 24, giving the Bulldogs three non-conference games in their first four weeks.
Georgia’s first SEC game is on September 17 in South Carolina, and it’s their only conference game in September. The league’s roster really escalates in October with a trip to Missouri on October 1. The Bulldogs will be looking to win their sixth straight game in Columbia, Missouri.
The Deep South’s oldest rivalry, UGA v Auburn, will take place inside Sanford Stadium on October 8. This will be the third consecutive season the game will be played in October after traditionally being played in November. Georgia have not lost a game to the Tigers at home since 2005. Vanderbilt will travel to Athens, Ga. On October 7. It will be the first time the Commodores have visited Athens since the 2018 season. The 2020 game between the two SEC East teams has been called a “no contest” in 2020 due to COVID-19.
The annual clash with Florida for the world’s largest outdoor cocktail party takes place on October 29. As usual, the Bulldogs’ Open House week will take place before this game on October 22.
The annual clash with Tennessee will begin in November. Both teams will play in Athens on November 5. It will be followed by a trip to Mississippi State on November 12 for the first time since 2010. The Bulldogs will end the SEC game with a game against Kentucky in Lexington on November 19.
The 2022 regular season will end with Georgia Tech returning to Athens for the first time since 2018. Both teams have not played at all in 2020 due to the SEC’s move to a conference program solely due to COVID -19.
Georgia are 3-0 for the 2021 season with a goal of reaching the SEC championship game for the fourth time in five years and making a college football playoff appearance for the first time since 2017. Les Bulldogs will travel to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt this weekend. Kick-off is set for 12 p.m. ET on the SEC network.
