Funeral services announced for FSU legend Bobby Bowden

Florida State Seminoles football fans will have two distinct opportunities to say goodbye to the coaching legend who helped create a program and a university.

Services for former head coach Bobby Bowden will take place on Friday August 13 and Saturday August 14, with the first a period of public visitation and the second a funeral open to the public.

Here is the university’s full statement:

On behalf of Ann Bowden, daughters Robyn Hines (Jack) and Ginger Madden Bowden, and sons Stephen, Terry, Tommy (Linda) and Jeff (Cindi), 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, please consult Coach Bowden service schedule

Please also note that the family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that charitable contributions be made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at 8701 Leeds Road, Kansas City, MO 64129

Services for Bobby Bowden

Friday August 13

10 a.m.-1 p.m. Coach Bowden will bed in honor in the Capitol Rotunda

2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Coach Bowden will go to bed resting at the Moore Athletic Center, located at Doak Campbell Stadium – Open to the public.

Saturday August 14

11:00 a.m. Coach Bowden Funeral Services at the Tucker Civic Center at FSU: open to the public with doors opening at 9:30 a.m.

Sunday August 15th

4-6 p.m.

Coach Bowden will go to bed resting at Reid Chapel on the University of Samford campus – Open to the public. A family-only funeral service will follow in Trussville, Ala.
