Exit from a disappointing series against the giants, the Dodgers were looking to bounce back against a new look Padres team that will likely compete with them for division in the coming years. After sinking 3-0 early, the Dodgers escaped and finally completed the comeback in a 4-3 win.

Clayton Kershaw started and had a difficult start, allowing a two-point homer Manny Machado in the 1st at his first appearance against the Dodgers. Manny admired him, which was justified because it was a moonshine.
Getting through Manny is one thing but getting by Ian Kinsler and his .566 OPS is another, and yet that's exactly what happened in the 3rd to put the Dodgers 3-0.
Fortunately, that's all that Kershaw would give up that day. He made six innings and gave six hits, scoring one and six back.
Homers are obviously not great, but the fact that the players on the move seem to come back even if he does not have the best of himself is a bearer of hope.

On the other side of things, Eric Lauer continued his dominance against the Dodgers. Although he had the help of the defense, he restricted the Dodgers to a mere four-run walk.
Fortunately, it was Chris Taylor of all the people who finally joined him, lifting a ball for a left circuit to reduce the lead to 3-1.
On the 6th, they finally managed to do something together against Lauer, only charging the basics after the match. Enrique Hernandez unique, Cody Bellinger double, and Justin Turner walking forced the Padres to turn to the pen. However, the Dodgers only managed one try of this sequence, coming on a Corey Seager sacrifice flying to do it 3-2 for the Padres.
Nevertheless, the slaughter was successful on the 7th, Austin Barnes led the sleeve just over the wall, set off for a draw.
Then, on the 9th, the Dodgers managed to Kirby Yates everybody. Barnes started again with a brace and he scored on a Muncy single along the line that deflected into loose ground from the glove of Eric Hosmer.
Muncy also did this ballet issue to save a Barnes (and maybe match) mistake.
The Dodgers pen has imposed itself on the other side, as Dylan Floro went 1.2 sleeves without goal, allowing only a walk. And Scott Alexander took over the 8 and closed the frame.
After taking the lead, they handed it over to Kenley Jansen in the 9th, but things started worryingly like a Grounder in the middle was started by Corey Seager. However, Kenley rebounded by eliminating the team and performing as well as the whole season.

Since they won, I think it's a good time to complain about the terrible situation in this referee's area. Good grace.
Oh, okay, Bellinger seemed to hurt his shoulder during a dive for a field player in the 6th.
However, he rebounded and appeared generally healthy afterwards.
Still something to watch.

The win brings the Dodgers to 21-13 for the year (100 wins) and returns to .500 on the road at 9-9. They will do it again tomorrow at 2:40 pm HST / 5:40 pm PST / 8:40 pm EST with a left handed confrontation between Rich Hill and Joey Lucchesi.
