Furious Bruins fans after defeat of referees before goal

NHL referees have not had the best of the post-season series and this trend continued in the first half of Thursday night's game between the Boston Bruins and the Columbus Blue Jackets when the referees awarded the Blue Jackets a goal that should not have counted.

Because, as televised broadcasts clearly show, moments before the goal, the puck hit the net behind the goal and the game should have been dismissed.

Instead, the Blue Jackets scored just after the puck returned to the ice to score 2-1, mainly because the Bruins stopped playing because the puck hit the net.

Everyone watched the game, including the Bruins social media team, who tweeted:

Columbus's shot comes out of the net over the goal. But no whistle.

The Blue Jackets come back with a goal a few seconds later. 2-1 #NHLBruins.

Referees on the ice have absolutely whistled the call of Panarin goal. The puck went into the net. The NHL ruined everything by not making this game review eligible. But Chara, Backes, Krejci and McAvoy also stopped playing without a whistle being announced. A lot of bad on this game

This is the reason why all the nets are removed from the arena. I would prefer that fans take the pucks up to the teeth rather than a team giving up a crucial goal in the playoffs. Do not sit behind the net unless you have good reflexes. #Bruins

It does not matter that the #bruins are lucky to get out of this period in 1, the referees have been bad this series. Last night for Debrusks' goal, the referee was on goal and the puck was literally in front of him and he said no purpose. Tonight, none of them could see the puck hitting the net
