Gable Steveson, arguably the world’s No.1 college wrestler, greeted Vince McMahon on Twitter one night after reaching the pinnacle of varsity wrestling.

On Saturday, Minnesota junior Gophers won the heavyweight title at the 2021 NCAA Championships with an 8-4 decision over No.2 Mason Parris of Michigan. After his win, Steveson celebrated with his trademark backflip on the mat.

As reported, Gable’s brother Bobby Steveson is currently training at the WWE Performance Center. Paul Heyman has previously raised the possibility of Gable joining WWE. In a recent interview, Heyman said varsity athletes such as the Steveson brothers, Parker Boudreaux and Bronson Rechsteiner could be future headliners for WrestleMania.

As a college wrestler, Steveson is now the reigning NCAA Division I National Champion, two-time Big Ten Conference Champion [three-time finalist] and two-time All-American from the University of Minnesota. He was also an outstanding high school wrestler, as a quadruple MSHSL champion [five-time finalist].
