Comedian Gabriel Iglesias has been forced to cancel an upcoming show after testing positive for COVID-19 – despite being fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

He announced the news via social media with a video titled “Announcement that I didn’t want to make on my birthday”.

“Unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID-19. I made sure to be tested by two different types of tests and they both came back positive”, explained the comic on Thursday on the occasion of his 45th anniversary. anniversary.

Iglesias added that none of his symptoms were “debilitating” and credits his vaccination with “getting me through this as quickly as he did”.

The funny man was due to complete his 73-stop tour in San Antonio, Texas this weekend, but will instead be quarantined for 14 days.
