Gadot also said she was interviewed as part of WarnerMedia’s recent investigation into conduct on the “Justice League” set.
Gal Gadot returns to the forefront with the upcoming and long-awaited release of “Wonder Woman 1984”, in theaters and on HBO Max. But it will also reappear on the streaming platform for beginners next March with the new version of “Justice League” from director Zack Snyder. The 2017 film has remained mired in controversy since star Ray Fisher alleged abusive conduct during the Joss Whedon revivals, launching a WarnerMedia investigation that ended earlier this month.
In a new interview with Variety, Gadot said she provided testimony during the recently concluded investigation, but was unsure whether “corrective action,” as reported by WarnerMedia, had been taken. The results of the investigation were not disclosed, although earlier in the summer Fisher said the filmmakers had abused their power.
“I know they did a very thorough investigation, even just from the time I spent with them,” Gadot said. “I do not know what [remedial action] does not mean either, ”she said, adding,“ I’m curious what the outcome will be. “
Fisher initially alleged that Whedon, succeeding Zack Snyder, who had to step down for personal reasons, and producers Geoff Johns and Jon Berg created a hostile work environment.
Gadot told the Los Angeles Times that she was not involved in the covers when the alleged behavior took place. Fisher, who plays cybernetic superhero Cyborg, had tweeted that “Whedon’s treatment of the cast and crew of the ‘Justice League’ on set was rude, abusive, unprofessional and totally unacceptable.
In the LA Times interview, however, Gadot also hinted at his own troubling experience with Whedon, adding that it was resolved in private. “I’m happy Ray is coming out and telling his truth,” Gadot said. “I wasn’t there with the guys when they toured with Joss Whedon – I had my own experience with [him], which wasn’t the best, but I took care of it there and when it happened I took it to the top ranks and they took care of it. But I’m glad Ray comes up and tells his truth.
In a follow-up tweet after the investigation ended on Dec. 11, Fisher said, “There are still conversations to be had and resolutions to be found.”
“Wonder Woman 1984” hits theaters and HBO Max on Christmas Day.
