We are at the end of CES 2021 and Samsung has decided to launch its new flagship Galaxy S21 range, consisting of the S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra, with an Unpacked event during the same busy week; they start at $ 800 (£ 769). The launch, which comes about a month earlier than usual, included the Galaxy Buds Pro headphones and SmartTag object tracking.

The new Galaxy S21 is all-metal and has tougher glass for better durability, with a display supporting adaptive refresh between 48 and 120Hz and improved blue light protection. And naturally, there is a trio of better cameras and new AI photo processing hardware. Best bokeh! Animal specific mode! It adds multi-photo processing and skin-optimized white balance to your selfie options.

For video, you will be able to extract 8K photos from videos and take photos and videos simultaneously, as well as better shooting mode. It also adds a multicamera view for the video, with quick switching between them – it looks very cool.

The phone also has an updated processor for faster processing, along with updated security hardware. Samsung has worked with Unity, maker of game development tools, to optimize games.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a better processor, display, and cameras compared to its smaller siblings. It has a new 108 megapixel image sensor that gives it extra pixels for binning to create better low-light images. “Nona-binning!” “Space zoom!” It’s a new algorithm, taking advantage of the new folded lens to offer better zoom between wide angle and telephoto and the lock-up feature to reduce camera shake.
