Well I guess we’ll wait until February 27
We’re almost done the “remake-verse” so to speak, with the main line Pokemon generations: if this rumored project comes to fruition (it probably will someday, the real question is whether it’s this year or not).
We have traveled Red, blue, gold, silver, ruby, and Sapphire again, but according to a report from Centro Pokemon, Diamond and pearl could arrive as early as 2021 on Switch. If that happens, the next remakes on the slate would be the Black and White games (1 + 2), and at this point we are almost in the modern era with X & AND.
But back to diamond and pearl for a second. Centro Pokemon specifies that “according to sources close to the company,” the pair of remakes will be announced on February 27, which also serves as “Pokemon Day” and the 25th anniversary of the series. Based on the report, the remakes will come this year.
Hey, that doesn’t sound too far-fetched, but anyone could have made that prediction anytime after the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire remakes in 2014 and maybe got it right. We know big announcements are coming this year anyway, so it’s time to just grab that salt shaker and wait.
