"60 minutes", the most successful TV show in history. Broadcasting compelling investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and cast profiles, the broadcast began in 1968 and remains a hit, more than 50 seasons later, regularly ranked in the top 10 from Nielsen. "60 Minutes" has won several Emmy Awards than any other prime time broadcast, including an Emmy award from Lifetime Achievement. During his tenure, he has also won all major awards for audiovisual journalism, including 24 Peabody Awards and 18 DuPont Columbia University Awards for the excellence of his television broadcast. Other honored awards include the George Polk, RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Awards, the Investigator and Editors Journalists, RFK Journalism, the Sigma Delta Chi Awards and Gerald Loeb for their distinguished reports on business and financial reporting. "60 Minutes" was premiered on September 24, 1968 on CBS.
