Games Workshop put a nun in a Gundam and other ads from the weekend feed

Games Workshop had another big streaming presentation on Saturday, announcing a whole slew of new miniatures and two new games for 2021. The highlight of the presentation was a new model depicting a mechanized Sister of Battle, further strengthening the Adepta Sororitas as a leading combat force in the 41st millennium.

The new model is called the Paragon Warsuit, and it easily stands twice the size of a standard Sister of Battle on the table. It comes with a melee weapon and the ability to mount any of three ranged weapons, including a flamethrower or a Melta weapon. It’s not yet clear how these new units will fight on the table, or even what the size or cost of a formation will be, but they are easily one of the most ambitious and striking models released for Warhammer 40,000 in the past. in recent years.

The announcement was also accompanied by some pretty animations of stained glass.

The UK-based company is also expanding the popular Kill Team range with a new set. Titled Kill Team: Pariah Nexus, it aligns with the latest Warhammer 40,000 Indomitus box set released last year. It will feature Space Marines and Necrons fighting on what looks like a fairly two-dimensional board designed to look like the inside of a Necron ship. This is a far cry from the large multi-level buildings that came with the original Kill Team set in 2018.

It should be noted that for slow painters like me, the rules are coming soon for playing Kill Team with the included models. Unusual together. This means that you will be able to use this team of Assault Intercessors even if you have not yet finished painting all of the Veterans and Riders of Bladeguard.

Along with several new books, there is also a pair of lavish new models for non-40K systems. They include a massive new Titan Warmaster for got Titanicus, the biggest yet added to this game. Warhammer: Age of Sigmar also receives an agile and energetic Sevireth, the Lord of the Seventh Wind. But the real surprise is that Games Workshop will also release a brand new game in the Warhammer Quest series.

Warhammer Quest has its roots in the 1990s, when it came out of the classic HeroQuest line and a partnership with Milton Bradley. He recently emerged as Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress, a hybrid of traditional board game and tactical wargame. This $ 150 box set has been followed by several expansions, so expect the same treatment for this new property, which is titled Warhammer Quest: Cursed City.

There will likely be dozens of models in the set, but only two have been revealed: vampire hunter Jelsen Darrock (likely one of the hero characters) and a Gravekeeper named Gorslav.

Finally, there is a new set of Dark Angels Space Marines and a new Codex Supplement: Dark Angels to go with them, plus a heavier version of the classic Land Speeder to boot. These models and more will be pre-ordered on January 30.
