Garth Brooks puts the pandemic in his rearview mirror – and he wants other musicians to follow his lead – after filling the stadium with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Garth performed in front of 68,000 sold-out spectators on Saturday night at Allegiant Stadium … making it the first major concert in a stadium since the COVID-19 closures began over a year ago. If the country superstar had rust, the audience couldn’t tell as they cheered for over 2 hours of live music.
The only person more excited than the fans was Garth, who said, “To all musicians all I can say is get back into the game because it’s the greatest feeling in the world.” It’s been over 500 days since his last live concert, and he told the crowd, “I’ve never felt at home as quickly as you made me feel.”
There was a reminder of the COVID-19 pandemic… a warning on Garth’s website for all ticket holders who read: “Buyer bears the risk of Covid. All Covid rules apply.
Las Vegas has been wide open since June 1, so there was no COVID rule to apply for this show. Next up for Garth is another concert at the stadium next week in Salt Lake City.
It’s interesting… Vegas had packed houses all weekend – in addition to Garth’s show, UFC 264 was taking place at the T-Mobile Arena… more Dave chappelle and Justin bieber also had sold-out shows.
Talk about COVID-19 vaccine combat testing.
