Prior to his performance on opening day, Garth Brooks had a bit of help from Lady Gaga’s glamor team.

The 58-year-old country musician, who sang “Amazing Grace” at Wednesday’s ceremony where President Joe Biden was sworn in, tweeted his thanks to pop star makeup artist Sarah Tanno and hairstylist Frederic Aspiras, to help the caregiver look their best.

“@Ladygaga You were fabulous today and every day. A national treasure, ”Brooks wrote after the day’s festivities. “Please tell Frederick [sic] and Miss Sarah thank you for me! They saved a cowboy today. Oh, and tell Miss Sarah to give her mom a hug for me! love, g ”

The two beauty gurus responded to the note in their respective Instagram Stories; “It was an honor to help you out with the hair for your beautiful inaugural performance,” Aspiras wrote, while Tanno joked about Brooks’ tweet, “BTW making a shirt.”

A registered Republican, the “Friends in Low Places” singer chose an outfit that reflected his Oklahoma roots: a black blazer and shirt, dark jeans, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. He pulled the latter off for his performance, inadvertently sparking speculation he might have had ankles before the big day.

“It’s a beautiful day in our home,” Brooks said when announcing his participation in the Biden inauguration. “In our home, this is not a political statement; it is a declaration of unity. “

Gaga, 34, opted for a decidedly more exaggerated look to sing the national anthem: a custom navy blue jacket, a red floor-length skirt and a giant golden dove brooch from Schiaparelli Haute Couture, which quickly drew comparisons of ” The Hunger Games ”on social media.
