LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Lansing gasoline prices rose 11.3 cents a gallon last week, averaging $ 2.38 a gallon, according to the online price analyzer GasBuddy.com .
This compares with the national average which rose 3.0 cents per gallon over last week to $ 2.31 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.
"Gas prices have reached their highest level in almost two months, mainly as a result of rising oil prices.The demand for gasoline remains low seasonally, but last week's report of the Energy Information Administration showed that the use of refineries was decreasing, which means less gasoline, "said Patrick DeHaan, Petroleum Analysis Manager for GasBuddy.
Taking into account the local currency over the past week, prices rose 6.7 cents per gallon on Sunday from the previous year and 31.6 cents per gallon more than a month ago.
The national average has increased 6.8 cents per gallon in the last month and 19.6 cents per gallon less than a year ago.
