As you can see from the countdown appearing on the GBAtemp home page, the E3 is almost there! It remains less than a week before the kickoff of the big show, which will undoubtedly give us a ton of new games for which we will be delighted. E3 2019 will be an interesting event. It will be the first year of its history that Sony will escape its activities, despite the growing anticipation of the new generation PlayStation system. That gives voice to Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Bethesda, Ubisoft, Square Enix and, of course, Nintendo. Devolver Digital, Limited Run Games and the PC Gaming Show will also welcome new revelations at smaller press conferences throughout the week.

E3 2019 will be a defining point for many AAA companies. Bethesda has a lot to prove after the hectic reception at Fallout 76 and the earlier announcement that they would not bring their two most fashionable games – Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield – to their conference. With Sony irrelevant, Microsoft has a lot of leeway to impress, because all eyes will be on them. Recent acquisitions seem to show that Microsoft takes exclusives seriously, after adding Obsidian and inXile to their list. Meanwhile, the Xbox Scarlett code name seems to be focusing on streaming, a controversial topic for many. For many of you, Nintendo will be the highlight of the series, which brought it out of the park when it comes to the Switch. The Switch has broken records on both sides in terms of sales. Nintendo will have to bring a lot to the table to continue its momentum. The PC Gaming Show should be a good source of debate, due to the arrival of Epic Games on the scene and its attempt to gain market share in Steam. You will have to watch to see how many games will be exclusive to the Epic launcher on PC!

Becoming a recent tradition, GBAtemp will once again cover the event live from the show. Like last year, we are delighted to announce that we have a meeting with Nintendo (thanks to @Hells Malice) and that you can expect a cover of their latest games! Microsoft and Bethesda also graciously invited us to their press conferences. So, keep an eye on yourself and maybe you'll see someone wearing a Tempy sweatshirt in the Twitch crowd!

Are you excited for this year's E3? We are sure! With upcoming games such as Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch, Cyberpunk 2077, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Halo Infinite, the Link's Remake Awakening for all appearances, a variety of titles previously announced a multitude of new games that will be unveiled. As with all E3, rumors are already spreading everywhere; there is much innuendo in the new game From Software that could include George RR Martin as a senior writer, the quiet activism of a potential Baldur's Gate 3 or the clone of the Roller Rocket League that Ubisoft has in its sleeve. Microsoft could also reveal its new Xbox hardware. There is a lot to wait!
